Rotorua's trail maintenance company Spadewerx headed up by super-digger Mark Upshall will not be doing any trailwork in Whaka forest for the next 3 month. Mark heads to Portugal to join the NZ Trail Solutions crew there building singletrack in the hills near the spectacular Marveo Castle. Mark will still be keeping the Spadewerx blog updated.

With the part sponsorship of NZRide, importersand web-retailers of Freelap timing systems Southstar Shuttles Rotorua have installed permanent transmitters at the start of the National Downhill/Huckleberry Hound near the shuttle drop off and at the finish of the Downhill and Little Red Riding Huck. This means riders using a freelap watch can get automatically timed runs on these tracks, with times showing up on their watch - pretty damn cool!
